Mexico City Downtown & Templo Mayor private group tour

*Welcome to Mexico City!
After meeting and greeting by our Rep. in Mexico City International Airport, transfer to hotel in Mexico City. Because most flight from Europe come to Mexico City early in the morning, optional early check in to the hotel with breakfast is available (+ €).

After a couple of hours resting, experience life in one of the largest Cities in the World. Admire the so called “La Ciudad de los Palacios” (The City of Palaces). Tour the most important sites in Mexico City Downtown.
Visit the National Palace where Diego Rivera’s murals were painted. If the access is closed, we can admire more of its amazing painting work describing the history of Mexico since pre-Columbian times in the Museum of Bellas Artes (Fine Arts Palace).

Get to know the rich Mexican history of Zocalo, like the Mexicans call it; here, we Will visit “Templo Mayor”, archaeological site in the Heart of the City; our certified local guide Will share with you the amazing History of the foundation in this great nation in this very place.
Our tour Will continue visiting the Metropolitan Cathedral, consider the largest of the Americas.

Finally, we Will visit Mexico City Anthropology Museum where we Will tour the “Mexica Hall” consider the most important because of the priceless items displayed here.
Our journey Will end with private group transfers back to the hotel.

Day 3

Teotihuacan private group tour

& Basilica de Guadalupe visit

*Today, get ready to start with a journey full of History and traditions.

First, we Will tour the Ancient Mesoamerican City of Teotihuacan. This Archaeological site is worldwide known for its amazing Sun and Moon Pyramids, and the Avenue of the Death. We Will see small portion of its Murals that have been exceptionally well preserved.

We Will maque a stop to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with its typical Mexican food. Then, we Will get to know the work process for tequila and pulque, traditional Mexican liquors. And of course, we Will have Tequila taste…!

On the way back to Mexico City, our next stop Will be at the beautiful Basilica of our Lady of Guadalupe (Basilica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe); Roman Catholic Church, National shrine of Mexico. The shrine was built near the Hill of Tepeyac where Our Lady of Guadalupe is believed to have appeared to San Juan Diego.

Finally, during Mexico City Panoramic tour in Reforma Avenue, one of the most beautiful Avenues in Mexico, we Will maque a photo stop at "El Angel de la Independencia", like the Mexicans name the iconic symbol of Mexico, built in 1910 to commemorate a century of independence.

Our journey Will end with private group transfers back to the hotel.

Day 5

Oaxaca City private group tour

After early departure from Puebla to Oaxaca, during our almost 5 hour on the road, we will have a brief stop on the way to admire the giant cactus, ideal for one of the best pictures of your trip to Mexico.

At arrival to Oaxaca, we will visit Benito Juarez Market for lunch. Among others, we will see and enjoy local products like Mole Oaxaqueño, Tlayudas, Mezcal, Chocolate, Quesillo, and Chapulines and the main aisle for tasting some of Oaxaca’s best cuisine.
Then, in the same market we will have a short time for souvenir shopping of traditional black clay handicrafts, alebrijes, and typical costumes from the 8 regions of the state of Oaxaca.

Our journey will procede with Oaxaca City walking tour, starting with a visit to the Temple of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, an example of Baroque architecture in Mexico.

Our tour will include a visit to the Regional Museum of Oaxaca and see exhibits of Mixtec and Zapotec archaeology including treasures from Grave No 7 of Monte Albán.

Our journey will continue to one of the main streets of Oaxaca until we reach the city center passing by museums, galleries, craft shops, and restaurants until we finally enjoy a mixture of band and Marimba music in Constitution Garden.

Finally, we will finish the day with private group transfer to your hotel in Oaxaca.

Day 6

Monte Alban & Mitla private group tour
& El Tule tree visit

*Our journey will start with Monte Alban tour, one of the most important and famous pre-Columbian archaeological sites in Mexico. The site is believed to be more than three thousand years old and has been inhabited by various Mexican cultures such as the Olmec, the Zapotec and the Mixteca.

Discover the various features of the complex including the main square, the ballgame court, the palace, the observatory and the Plaza of the Dancers, among others.

Our tour will continue to Mitla, the second-most important archaeological site in the state of Oaxaca, and the most important of the Zapotec culture.

We will make a stop to enjoy a delicious traditional lunch, to finish our tour with “El Tule” (the tree of Tule) located in the church grounds in the town center of Santa Maria del Tule. It is a Montezuma cypress or ahuehuete (meaning "old man of the water" in Nahuatl).

This tree is famous for its circumference of 42 meters and it is occasionally nicknamed the "tree of life" from the images of animals that are visible in the tree's trunk including jaguars and elephants.

Our journey will proceed with 4 hours private group transfer to hotel in Tehuantepec.

Day 7

Cañon del Sumidero (Sumidero Canyon) boat tour

Today, our journey will continue with 5 hours on the road to reach Chiapa de Corzo; a long trip but worthy to visit one of the most beautiful Canyons in the world!

We will arrive to Chiapa de Corzo “Embarcadero” (boats terminal) where we will enjoy lunch (not included) in a local restaurant next to the river.

Then, enjoy an amazing adventure with Cañon del sumidero boat tour. Get on board a boat to admire the amazing and impressive geological feature and national park.

The canyon began to form around 70 million years ago due to tectonic activity in what was then an underground area. Only Grijalva river flows through the canyon now, providing a habitat for families of crocodiles and an attractive counterpoint to the steep rock walls of the canyon.

Sumidero Canyon is a premier example of mother nature’s wrath. This inexplicable testament to the power of water will blow your mind. Near-vertical walls rise more than 2,500 feet (800 meters) overhead. Monkeys, crocodiles, and birds of all sorts can be spotted in the numerous jungle patches along the shoreline. If you enjoy witnessing amazing natural wonders, you will love taking a Sumidero Canyon boat trip.

Day 8

San Juan Chamula, Zinacantan
&
San Cristobal de las Casas private group tour

*Enjoy an amazing day getting to know “Tzotzil indigenous communities” traditions and lifestyle, “different” to everything else you have seen.

Our tour will start visiting San Juan Chamula; at arrival, we will visit the emblematic church of San Juan, which is considered one of the most enigmatic in the country for its religious syncretism. Chamula boasts a wariness towards outsiders, a penchant for fascinating ancient rituals and beliefs blended with modern Christianity. Religion, politics and rituals are deeply intertwined; the community leaders are also spiritual leaders & healers. Chamula is one of Mexico’s few autonomous townships, with a startlingly high indigenous population – some 99.5% of the residents speak an indigenous language. It is one of the most visited Tzotzil towns in Mexico.

Our journey will continue visiting Zinacantan, community of traditional weavers. In this town, we will visit a traditional weavers´ house where we will see the process of weaving in a waist loom of pre-Hispanic origin. Here, the group will have the opportunity to eat traditional tacos prepared with handmade corn tortillas; the tortillas might be of different colours (blue, white, brown) depending artisans' the kind of corn used to prepare them. These tortillas are cooked in the “comal” traditional Mexican “tool” to cook tortillas. And of course, you will prepare your own taco with cheese, frijoles, salsa, “chorizo”, etc.

Finally, we will return to San Cristobal de las casas where we will take a tour through the historic center of the city, to see the most representative churches, as well as the artisans' market and Amber Museums, where we will learn about the “art” of this precious and amazing material.

Day 9

La Venta “Olmeca” Museum Park private group tour

*Enjoy an extraordinary day visiting La Venta Museum Park, a symbol of the Olmeca culture.

La Venta is a pre-Columbian archaeological site of the Olmec civilization located in the the state of Tabasco. They were one of the first and most important civilizations to develop in the Americas; and it is believed it was a civic and ceremonial center.

,/p>La Venta Museum Park was created in 1958, when petroleum exploration threatened the ancient Olmec settlement of La Venta archaeological site in western Tabasco. Archaeologists moved the site’s most significant finds, including the three most famous and representative colossal stone heads, to this unique Museum Park. Besides those, we will admire 33 megalithic stone structures that have been erected in this park.During our walking tour, our licenced experience tour guide will share with you the history, myths and facts of this amazing Mexican civilization.

In the park is home of flora and fauna from this tropical area; among others, we can see spider monkeys and jaguars.

Our tour will end with private group transfer to Palenque.

Day 10

Palenque private group tour

*We will tour one of the most important and famous archaeological sites of Mexico, Palenque. It is considered to be one of the most fascinating and mysterious cities of the ancient Mayas whose science, astronomy, architecture and religion amaze people even in the XXI century.

During this tour, our experienced tour guide will share with you Palenque history, rise and fall. Palenque is smaller than Chichen Itza, but it contains some of the finest architecture, sculpture, roof comb and bas-relief carvings that the Mayas produced. Much of the history of Palenque has been reconstructed from reading the hieroglyphic inscriptions on the many monuments; historians now have a long sequence of the ruling dynasty of Palenque.

Among others, we will see “the Palace”, The Temple of Inscriptions, The temples of the Sun and the Temple XIII which is adjacent to the Temple of Inscriptions. In 1994 a door was found that led to an underground temple, with three rooms. In the middle room was a sarcophagus which was painted with cinnabar to give it a red colour, inside the sarcophagus was the remains of a woman who became known as the Red Queen.

The site also incorporates a museum containing some of the artefacts found on the site and a reconstruction of the tomb of Pacal as the tomb itself was closed to visitor.

Our tour will end with private group transfer to Campeche.

Day 11

Campeche & Uxmal private group tour

*Today, have a great day touring 2 interesting places; Campeche fortress City, and Uxmal one of the most beautiful archaeological sites in Mexico.

During the first part of our journey, we will take a guided walking tour through the historic center of the city of Campeche; this is the only walled city in Mexico to avoid ancient Pirates attacks and robberies due to the fact Campeche was a very rich city.

We will visit the main park and the cathedral and enjoy wonderful view offered by the old colonial houses.

Our tour will continue with Uxmal archaeological site tour.

Uxmal is situated within a series of hills known as the Puuc or “mountainous area”. The name was later given to describe the architectural style of the region, such as the colossal Magicians Pyramid, impressive Governors Palace, intricate Dove’s Temple, and grand Nuns Quadrangle part of this amazing site.

The archaeological structures and buildings located throughout Uxmal are ornamented with geometrical figures and masks of the God of the rain, Chaac, considered by the Mayas as one of their most important of deities.

Our experienced tour guide will bring back to life the splendor of this magnificent site.

Day 12

Celestun Flamingos and crocodile private group tour
(seasonal from November to March. From March to October we go to Rio Lagartos instead of Celestun)

Merida walking private group tour

*Enjoy an extraordinary “nature” journey and let yourself go on this adventure to Celestun flamingos, crocodile & bird watching boat tour.

During the tour you will discover Celestun Biosphere Reserve, seasonal home for the pink flamingo, surrounded by the mangroves and home of more than 280 species of birds.

Here, we will enjoy the boat ride watching the flamingos and the local flora and fauna; we can even watch crocodiles, and if we are lucky, the jaguar swimming in the lagoon.

Then, we will stop in one of the islands in the lagoon surrounded by mangrove to see the beautiful spring of fresh water, besides uncountable number of birds.

Our tour will continue with lunch in a local restaurant on Celestun beach with the fresh catch of the day, and free time for sunbathing, resting and enjoy the peaceful waters on its beach.

After a nice day in contact with nature, our tour will end with transfer to the hotel in Merida. At arrival, we will tour among others the “Zocalo”, main square and its Cathedral, where we will visit “El Cristo Negro” to finish with transfer and drop off to the hotel in Valladolid, Yucatan.

Day 13

Chichen Itza private group tour

*Bring your expeditionary spirit and let yourself go on this journey to the most iconic archaeological site of the Mayan World. Meet one of the New Wonders of the Modern World at Chichén Itza, Included as part of the UNESCO World Heritage. It is considered the most important Mayan site for its imposing vestiges, famous for the mathematical precision with which they were built.
During the tour, lead by an experienced certified guide, we Will visit among others the Temple of Kukulkan (Mayan feathered serpent deity) “El Castillo” (The Castle); the main ball court which is by far the most impressive and largest well-preserved ball court in ancient Mesoamerica.

Then, our tour Will head to Cenote Tsukan where at arrival we Will enjoy a delicious Yucatecan buffet lunch (drinks not included), to proceed with a visit to ist beautiful cenote onsite. Here, we Will have free time (1 hour) for swimming; so, do not forget to bring your swimming suit & towel. (Lockers not included).

After cooling off the heat of the Peninsula, we Will maque a stop at Valladolid, Yucatan. This beautiful town is considered “Pueblo Magico” (Magic Town) based on its natural beauty, cultural and historical relevance to the country.

Our tour will end with transfer to your hotel in Playa del Carmen
